May 17, 2006. Biodiesel producer BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG has now put all the foundations in place for its third production facility. It will be erected in Rotterdam and will be constructed by renowned biodiesel plant builder, Lurgi AG. BIOPETROL ROTTERDAM B.V., Netherlands, signed the corresponding contract with Lurgi yesterday evening.
In Rotterdam a production plant is planned with a capacity of 400,000 tons of biodiesel, 60,000 tons of pharmaceutical glycerine and 60,000 tons re-esterification of fatty acids. Start up for the plant is scheduled for Q3 2007. The investment volume for the two latest BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES plants in Rostock and Rotterdam will be around EUR 90 million in total after deducting subsidies.
Christoph Dicks, CEO of BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG, commented: "By signing the contract we have realized our growth plans faster than originally planned. By year-end 2007 we intend the BIOPETROL Group to comprise three production plants delivering a total annual capacity of 750,000 tons of biodiesel and 90,000 tons of pharmaceutical glycerine."

The Company
BIOPETROL INDUSTRIES AG, based in Zug, Switzerland, produces and distributes premium quality biodiesel and pharmaceutical grade glycerine through its subsidiaries. Its clients include the mineral oil industry and resellers, large fleet operators and public transport companies.
