BIOPETROL ROTTERDAM BV – Maintenance Manager

BIOPETROL is a fast growing company with the headquarters based in Switzerland. Our core products are Biodiesel and Pharma Glycerine, which are sold by our trading division. Currently we produce 350,000 MT/a Biodiesel and 30,000 MT/a Glycerine in our German plant Schwarzheide (located between Berlin and Dresden) and Rostock (Germany, Baltic Sea). Our production facilities are supported by our technical support division Glyctec.

BIOPETROL is planning to start-up a large-scale Biodiesel plant of 400,000 MT/a in Q3 2008 in the port of Rotterdam. A co-siting agreement with Vopak was signed in March 2006, which secures us with one of the best locations in the port of Rotterdam, with access to tank storage, shipping, rail and pipeline connected with all major oil refiners. Lurgi, as world market leader in construction and building Biofuels plants, got the order to build the plant in May 2006 and the project is supervised by Glyctec.

The technical management team of BIOPETROL ROTTERDAM BV is currently developing and implementing the organisation and the supporting systems in order to start up the plants within the ambitious targets. The Maintenance Manager and his team will also support Glyctec to finalise the project within budget and planning.

Therefore we are seeking for a candidate to achieve the company’s ambitious targets. In such a fast growing company, structures and business processes need permanent adaptation. The candidate, as member of the local technical management team, should actively support these processes.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

member of the local Technical Management Team together with the Technical Director, the Operations Manager and the Laboratory Manager;

ine responsibility for 3 maintenance supervisors and actively coach his/her team

responsible for the maintenance and contractors budget;

develop, implement and maintain maintenance contracts with third parties;

manage contractors for maintenance activities;

support and implement a safe, reliable and cost efficient production of 400,000 t/a Biodiesel and 60,000 t/a Glycerine;

during the project phase the Technical Manager is actively involved in the building and construction supervision;

develop, implement and maintain the technical procedures and maintenance management system;

responsible for planning and execution of projects;

develop and implement “best practices” within the BIOPETROL group;

keep up with technical developments.

Profile:

• degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (HTS/academic) with allround experience (5 - 10 years of experience);
• Minimum 3 years experience in a (line) management role;
• he/she needs to be a strong personality with excellent leadership and team skills;
• high commitment;
• result orientated;
• fluent in English, German is an advantage.
